Recycling, End of Life and Sustainability
When your vehicle eventually reaches the end of its life, Skywell, as responsible vehicle manufacturers, and Innovation Automotive as its UK appointed distributor, have a duty to ensure you have access to a recycling facility, where your vehicle can be safely and effectively depolluted and recycled at no cost to you, in line with the End of Life Vehicle (ELV) Regulations.
The ELV Regulations were designed to reduce the impact that scrap cars have on the environment.
The first set of regulations came into effect in 2003 and recently updated in 2015 to ensure ELV’s were recycled and depolluted before destruction; and require that vehicle manufacturers establish national networks of Authorised Treatment Facilities (ATFs) holding the appropriate environmental permit, to provide free take back of their ‘own marque’ ELVs.
This involves the removal of hazardous materials, fluids, tyres, and batteries before any of the remaining parts or materials can be reused or recycled. Depollution can only be carried out at an ‘Authorised Treatment Facility’ (ATF).
Innovation Automotive (on behalf of Skywell) have selected CarTakeBack.com – who operate the largest network of ATFs in the UK to ensure that all last owners of Skywell vehicles have a trouble-free and efficient route to a free take back service.
All Skywell ELVs scrapped through CarTakeBack.com will be correctly and safely processed, and we endeavour to recycle no less than 95% of the vehicles mass, and ensure that all last owners of ELVs which are processed in this way, are promptly issued with a Certificate of Destruction in line with ELV Regulations.
Manufacturing
Skywell are introducing a range of electric vehicles globally, all manufactured from their modern production facilities across China; from local supply chains, utilising local materials.
With a focus now on sales to European customers, Skywell are also looking at regionalising manufacturing and distribution. With plans for a new manufacturing centre in Eastern Europe to support emerging Europe markets (including the UK) and existing Middle Eastern markets, we set to reduce our carbon footprint even further.
Materials
The leather in our vehicles is synthetic, allowing all the benefits of leather, a premium look and quality feel, but without any animal harm or intensive farming. Other materials used within the manufacturing process contain recycled content, which itself can be recycled – in fact no less than 95% of the car can be recycled!
Innovation
Thanks to our joint venture with Skyworth; (one of China’s leading electronics businesses), innovation is at the heart of what we do! With R&D facilities in Los Angeles, Europe and Asia; Skyworth are investing billions in tomorrow’s technology – from researching new battery cell technology; advanced AI opportunities, high-tech autonomous safety features plus so much more…

Charging Partners
Having a charging point fitted at home, offers cost effective motoring, with some EV-focussed home tariffs, offering charging costs from as little as 0.07p/kWh.
But choosing the right home charger can be a minefield. So, we’ve taken the hassle out of it, by partnering with Hypervolt – the UK’s most trusted charging partner to provide Skywell customers a seamless ordering and fitment process.
With over the air updates, Bluetooth connectivity, WiFi & Ethernet functions and simple smartphone app operation; the Home 3 Pro from Hypervolt allows for scheduled charging, with charging status and energy usage reviews.
The app also shows power source – so whether you utilising grid or home energy storage or solar energy. Clever!
And for those times when you’re out and about – Octopus Electroverse is the only app you need! With access to almost 1-million public chargers, from popular brands including Ionity, Shell Recharge and Instavolt – some even offering discounts; and with seamless integration to your chosen navigation app, you can view local charger availability, and plan routes to any destination based on current and desired charge levels.
You can even start and stop a charge, and pay for charging through the app too. Simple!
